Entering Shows

To enter your dog in shows, all you have to do is click on the Enter In Shows button that will appear on the information page for any dogs you own, are over 14 days, and are named.

If your dog is over 120 days old, you won't be able to enter it in conformation shows (except breed national specialties). They can only enter obedience. We automatically retire dogs from the show string after four months to allow new dogs to win the shows.

If a show doesn't get at least ten entries it will be cancelled. In the event of a show cancellation, all entries will be withdrawn and you will not be charged for the entries.

You are not able to enter your dog in invitational shows. For more information on obtaining entry into invitational shows, please see the relevant help topic.

Did you know?
The sit for exam is a modified version of the Stand for Exam. It is generally used in novice level classes and requires the handler to order the dog to sit and then to move away from the dog the length of the leash. The judge will then approach the dog and pet the dog's head.
